Boarding Up Reviews in Barnet

A smashed window, a forced door, a cracked shop pane or an empty house can all need boarding. This page shows the kind of feedback we aim to earn across Barnet. The comments below are sample testimonials. They illustrate the experience we work to give householders, shop owners, landlords and agents, and cover several of the services we offer.

Sample customer feedback

“Our front room window was smashed late on a Sunday. Someone actually picked up the phone, asked for the postcode and a photo, and gave me a clear quote before anything was done. The board went on neatly, and they swept the glass off the path as well. The photos and invoice came through the same week, which made the call to our insurer much easier.”

Sarah K., New Barnet, window boarding

“We run a small shop on the High Street in Chipping Barnet and a pane cracked right across. They boarded it with security fixings and left the door clear so customers could still get in. They were straightforward that it was a temporary fix until our glazier could replace the glass. That was exactly what we needed.”

Mehmet A., High Barnet, shopfront boarding

“After the break-in the door frame was split and I didn’t know where to start. On the phone they explained the frame might need securing before the door could be boarded, and they talked me through the options rather than just turning up and guessing. Calm and clear.”

Priya S., East Barnet, door boarding

“I look after a few rental properties, and one was going to be empty for a couple of months between tenants. They boarded the ground-floor windows and the back door and sent me dated before and after photos to pass on to the owner. Tidy work, and nothing added to the bill that we hadn’t agreed.”

Tom W., Arkley, vacant property securing

“A storm cracked our skylight and I was about to get the ladder out. They told me not to and to send a photo from inside instead. They sorted out the access themselves and boarded it properly.”

Linda M., Whetstone, roof and skylight boarding

“Polite, careful, and did what was quoted. Can’t ask for more.”

David R., Totteridge, window boarding

What we aim for on every job

The feedback above reflects how we work:

  • A person answers the phone, day or night. We attend at any hour, including weekends and bank holidays. We work out the arrival time on the call from your postcode.
  • A free, clear quote before work starts. The price depends on things like the size and number of openings, height and access, materials, the fixings needed and whether a damaged frame needs securing first.
  • Openings made safe and tidy. We usually use exterior-grade plywood, with OSB for smaller openings, and security fixings where they’re needed. We also clear the glass and debris that’s part of the agreed work.
  • Paperwork for your insurer. You get an itemised invoice, time-stamped before and after photographs, and a written statement of the work. Our guide to insurance claims paperwork explains how to use them. Your insurer decides what’s covered.

Boarding makes the property safe and secure, so your glazier or door fitter can then do the permanent repair properly.

We’re an independent local service with over 10 years’ experience. We’re fully insured and DBS-checked, and we can send our insurance certificate on request. We don’t publish star ratings or review counts on this page.

If you need an opening made safe, tell us your postcode and the type and rough size of the window, door, shopfront or skylight. If it’s safe to do so, send a few photographs so we can discuss access and give you a quote. If we’ve worked for you, we’d like to hear how it went.
